English for Speakers of Other Languages – Basic ESOL Instructor
Orange Literacy is seeking two contract (5 hours per week) instructors to provide English language instruction for basic level adult ESOL students. The instructors will provide in-person instruction to a small group of adult learners. The instructor will teach two 2-hour classes each week. The two classes are held Tuesdays and Thursdays 10:30 am - 12:30 pm and 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm.
Instructors will be responsible for the following:

Classroom Management

Planning, preparing and delivering lessons

Preparing in-class exercises and homework assignments

Providing appropriate feedback on oral and written work

Developing curriculum and lesson plans based on student needs

Attending and contributing to training sessions;

Accurate and timely record-keeping, such as student attendance records and informal assessments.
Candidates must have TESOL or TEFL certification. This is a contract position beginning in mid-September and running through the end of May, with a short break at the end of December. The classes will take place in the Orange Literacy offices in Carrboro.
